Carnivale Christi jest sydnejskim międzynarodowym fesiwalem młodych dorosłych katolików , odbywajacy dorocznie od 2001 roku. W tym roku festiwal jest częscią Światowych Dni Młodzieży.
Pierwsza częsc- Pre-WYD08 events- „ Remembering John Paul...” stanowi preludium tego co wydarzy sie w następnym tygodniu w miescie. Odbedzie sie jutro i w niedzielę w St Peters Surry Hills Church. Jutro o 20.00 sztuka Karola Wojtyły „ The Jeweller’s Shop” a w niedziele o 15.00 Handel’s Messiah.
W poniedziałek, wtorek , środę i czwartek na terenie Sydney University odbęda sie WYD08 events -”Welcoming Benedict!” . Głowną atrakcją będzie:
Papal Plate – International Debating & Soccer Competitions. W srodę w Great Hall , Sydney University odbedzie sie pierwsza tego rodzaju debata w ramach WYD na temat: „That God is dead”. W czwarterk zaś 8 drużyn narodowych uczestników WYD rozegra mistrzostwa w piłce nożnej o „Papal Plate” i „Wojtyla Medal”.
